It started with children.
Through many years of working directly with autistic children, neurodivergent children and children with additional communication needs, we have seen the impact that the right support can have on a child's confidence, understanding and ability to engage with the world around them.
We have worked alongside families, teachers, therapists and early years professionals, supporting children with a wide range of strengths and needs. Throughout this experience, one thing became clear: children benefit most when the adults around them work together using consistent, accessible and meaningful strategies.
MimoSteps was born from that belief.
The platform brings together approaches that we have seen work in real educational settings. It has been shaped by everyday practice, professional knowledge and countless moments spent supporting children to communicate, participate, learn and thrive.
Our work has included supporting children who are pre-verbal, minimally verbal, Gestalt Language Processors and children who communicate in many different ways. We understand that every child develops differently and that progress is often made through small steps that deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
